                                    MARY ANN [JAMES] BRANFIELD

Mrs Mary Ann Brandfield [should be BRANFIELD], 79, died at 3 a.m.  Friday at the home of her daughter Mrs John P Gardner, 2214 South Linden Avenue, after an illness of two weeks.

Born in Wales, Mrs Branfield came to the United States in 1870 and resided in Alliance 36 years. She was a member of the First Methodist Church, the Eastern Stars, the Pythian Sisters, and the Welsh American Club.

Surviving are two other daughters, Mrs E. W. Thomas of Gettysburg, PA and Mrs B. F. Davis of Pittsburgh PA; three sons, Albert Branfield and Dr Richard Branfield of Alliance and Dr V. R. Branfield of Lakewood; four brothers, Samuel and Richard James of Kent and David James of Steubenville; three sisters, Mrs Frank Bowman of Magnolia; Mrs Arthur Thomas of Canton and Mrs James Brown of Detroit Mich., and 15 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Her husband, Edward C. Branfield died four years ago, while a son J. E. Branfield, died a year ago in Pasadena Calif.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 pm Monday at the Cassaday and Turkle Funeral Home in charge of  Dr Paul Secrest, pastor of the First Methodist Church. Friends may call from 7 - 9 pm Sunday at the funeral home. Interment will be made in City Cemetery
