Well here I finally am with my Grandfather, ,my mothers father- he is the last of Mounsey & Mary Little's children. He is the last child and third son. As of this moment, I can not find any family connection to his first and middle name. I see a few Harolds but no Burton. Where did his name come from? All the other sons and daughter have family names attached but not Burton.

This was my mothers father who married Emma May Bristol in 1911 in Cortland New York.  They were together till April 1920 when my mothers was born. Not sure when it began but both her father and her mother had an affair.........  pretty serious affairs as they divorced and remarried those same people and lived happily ever after. Burton had custody of my mother but didn't know how to care for her so he made arrangements with his BIL Joseph Little and his wife and Burton's sister Jennie Little to care for her. And so they did. My mother did not have any contact with her mother for at least 30-40 years, not that her mother didn't try to make contact.. She loved her father like most daughter's do and visited him every chance she could. Eventually my mother and her mother Emma got together - I believe it was after her father passed in 1950.

Burton remarried the lady he was seeing while he was married to Emma. Her name was Jeannetta Slater. They had one child - a son named Burton Mounsey Little - a half brother of my mother. He passed away in 1973- not even 50 years old.

I have located the 1900, 1910, 1920, 1930 & 1940 US census.
He lived with his parents in Dryden, NY, married and moved to Cuba NY- Burton was a bookkeeper for Millin Co, Flour Mill Co. and last Phelps & Sibley Co.

I found his World War I draft card....... he never served in the military. Unfortunately you can not read all of it.. but it tells me he has blue eyes and light brown hair and he was 25 years old
